Interestingly, I have no nostalgic connection to the movie, despite growing up in that exact period. For some reason, I didn't see when I was a kid. But I saw it as an adult, and liked it. I'm sure I would have been all over it, had I seen it back then.

I don't understand, why henry! The cast is as good as your find in 80s movies, Grusin's score fits in so perfectly to what's on offer, do you dislike the cast of actors or music, hmm.

Hi! I agree, the cast and score are good. I don't have any problems with it, it just never really hooked me.

My daughters saw it when they were young, and they loved it. They even went to Astoria, Oregon to see the house where it was filmed. It is one of their favorite films. I enjoy it, but Henry we all like what we like and don't like what we don't like. Different strokes and that is okay.

I think its similar to Stand By Me, an adventure, an unknown journey, but with more comedy theme, elements too it, maybe you don't like them Fratellis. smile horses/courses, cool.

I found it unwatchable. Lots of annoying 80's kids and stupid @ss characters. Had a big crush on Kerri Green though.

No, Henry, you are NOT insane. Personal taste. If you like what others don't like, that's okay and vice versa.

LOVE The Goonies so much. I was the perfect age for this film when it came out and that music, goodness gracious so darn good. If only we'd get the score on vinyl some day . . .

I think "Lucas" was the first film I saw her in. Yeah, love her, and the film.

The first 20 minutes is what you make of it, for me, I like the beginning the family has a dyer situation there being evicted by developers that's quite a shock in itself opening. The energy, humour & jokes @ the start warmed the film up nicely, the truffle shuffle is pretty cool, iconic. wink The interpreter fiasco with the kids was interestingly funny, a shame about the limp statue its never the same fixed.

Not the most flattering picture of her, but yeah.

I love the movie. Great cast, great action, witty and inventive script and spot-on directing by Dick Donner. All wrapped up with a fabulous score.

Goonies to my view is one of the best family movies ever made.

Anyone else think that 80's Kerri Green looks a lot like modern-day Emma Watson? I was thinking that by the fourth or fifth Harry Potter movie (especially with the giant, curly Hermione hair Emma sported in those movies).

YES, I am a Goonies fan and so is my wife. That was the first film we had a common love for being 80's kids. Now we try to have our son watch it and he has no interest. Oh well, not for everyone.
