    Sir Winston English Tea
    Rice
    A lemon
    Toilet Rolls

No soundtracks yet this year, but we have the Three Wise Men on the 6th, so I hope they're not as mean as 2,000 years ago, when they gave a baby a piece of gold, some "myrrh" (what would a baby even do with that?) and the soundtrack to Frankenstein (it must have been the 1910 one starring Charles Ogle). Listen up Wise guys - we want soundtracks on the 6th, okay?

But I shouldn't be so brattish. Santa came on Christmas Day and left me some good things. I'm very happy with Santa. I'm posting the list now on the old thread from last year. Don't all rush there at once!

-it's the only store in Canada I've ever found second hand Intrada, LLL and other specialty label releases in their soundtrack section.

Thanks. I see now for Volume, AKA Librairie Volume. (pretty clever the way the "volume" name works for both books and sound).

As for l'Échange, it is indeed remarkable the stuff I've actually found there over the years. There are long dry spells, and then almost by magic, Intrada (among them all three volumes of Amazing Stories) and even Varese Club CDs (found a mint copy of Gremlins 2 Deluxe for the paltry sum of 12.50 CAD for instance) and many other gems too numerous to mention.

So happy to hear another FSM'er is making finds there too. I only lucked out once in the past couple years, in one visit got:
    Intrada's Young Sherlock Homes
    Music Box Good Will Hunting
    LLL's The Pagemaster
    and a few others.

Not sure when I'll be back in Montreal this year, probably when it warms up!

Will be in Edmonton next week - didn't check the record stores there last time I was in town. Might brave the cold this time around.

Ryan, have you bought from this seller before? They's sold 48 copies of Ghostbusters in the last month and still have more than 10 available at the very reasonable price of £24.99. I'm interested in this myself but it almost seems too good to be true!

The Three Wise Men (the Kings of Orient Are) were VERY good to me today. Santa brought me the following on Christmas Day -

Goldsmith, Jerry - DAMNATION ALLEY (Intrada)
Goldsmith, Jerry - ISLANDS IN THE STREAM (FSM)
    Newman A/ Herrmann B - THE EGYPTIAN (La-La Land)
Rosenman, Leonard - EDGE OF THE CITY/ THE COBWEB (FSM)
Rosenman, Leonard - A MAN CALLED HORSE (FSM)

    And then, this morning -

Gold, Ernest - PRESSURE POINT (Kritzerland)
Goldsmith, Jerry - A GATHERING OF EAGLES (Varese)
Goldsmith, Jerry - INCHON - (Intrada)
Goldsmith, Jerry - THE SPIRAL ROAD (Varese)
North, Alex - PONY SOLDIER (Varese)
Previn, André - ELMER GANTRY (Kritzerland)
Waxman, Franz - THE SILVER CHALICE (FSM)

That's TWELVE soundtracks in twelve days! Honestly, I'm used to getting about that amount every YEAR, so I'll be very occupied for months on end, listening and relistening just to those titles. I'll be posting inane comments about my "first impressions" as I work through the batch.

Ha! Something's just struck me about that list... No Miklós??? What on earth were Santa and the Kings thinking about? They obviously don't know me at all. I'll bet it was really just my mum n' dad.

That's a great one! Would love a rerecording.

    Me:

    FSM Islands in the Stream

I really like Goldsmith, but I listened to this twice and really dislike it. There are outright quotes from Ghost and Mrs. Muir here, not just motifs but...the whole score sounds like an homage to Herrmann, to be perfectly frank. I love G&MM, but just can't get into this. First bad score in my two month film music journey.
