How cold would it have to get to damage electronics... specifically, a flat screen LED TV, stereo receiver and CD player(Separate components), and a desk top computer?

I commute with an external hard drive, so in case my apartment burns down I'll still have all my personal files. With this polar vortex going on, the drive gets very cold, but it's not a problem. It doesn't have to warm up all the way to room temperature, or even close, to be of service again. Apparently the low humidity this time of year is a big help.

Interesting, I had not thought about that. Are you not worried that someone who broke into your car would have access to the files? Or is this just music? Or is it encrypted?
It's my entire life, everything I own that can be expressed in digital form. If I were smarter, it would be encrypted. I take it in to work in my backpack. But I could safely leave it in the car there because I work at a secure facility with electric gates that require card access to the parking lot (and also to every door inside the building).
