If you handle it! b Hmm, I think I recall some shade being cast over McCartney's playing the other day. One of the Quincy threads, I think? Anyway, while Sir Paul is not one of my bass heroes, I do think his playing is melodic and frequently inventive--within the context of "the pop song", I hasten to add. To compare him to jazz players is not the same soccer field. My jazz preferences are pretty much Monk and Coltrane, so maybe I'm not qualified to have an opinion on jazz bass--but the unsophisticated layman could be forgiven for thinking that jazz playing in general is several guys in a room whacking off in front of each other. Demo cue done to try and talk Dan into letting me do the music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdnPZbs5nXI In this cue, violent protestors are fighting the police. The hero shows up, fights them, stops it. A kid calls out to the hero, who's long since apparently become apathetic, and the hero just keeps walking away.
