There's a fair amount missing from Temple of Doom, as Jason LeBlanc's score breakdown illustrates:

http://indianajonesmusic.blogspot.com/2008/11/indiana-jones-and-temple-of-doom-1984.html

Might be around 10+ minutes (haven't done the math), but some of it is significant, IMHO.

Update: It might be around 40 minutes, according to Jason:

Seems daft to me Concord re-issuing the SAME release without any inclusions - criminal!

I take it you're referring to Crystal Skull?

It was a completely new release at the time the box set was released, so expanding it that soon, especially for a general market, would have been prohibitively costly.

They greatly expanded the previous 3 scores, and for a general release, they are pretty good.

My ideal presentation would be for basically an 8 CD set, 2 CDs for each score.

Raiders could include the OST arrangement on CD 2 with the complete score on CD 1, while the others (due to score length) would have complete programmes with source cues and album versions where appropriate on their second CDs.

Something like this with Mike Matessino at the helm and the Jim Titus artwork would be a dream come true.

Not all that likely to happen, given the licensing and ownership situations with these scores, and how recent Crystal Skull is, but I can dream.

I suspect we wont see any real positive movement on these until Concord's lease expires and Disney assumes control. Also judging from the DCC, a full length Raiders won't fit on a single disc.

No OBF the Concord complete box set of Indy scores reissuing later this year! All need that special LaLa Land/Intrada Records touch!

No, all of the music that wasn't on the original album is from various sources

Not sure what you're saying here.

The box set contains both the expanded Temple of Doom album -- which was also released as its own disc (along with the other two), and a bonus 4th CD which has about 10 minutes of ToD music (and 8 minutes of Raiders, and 15 of Last Crusade).

Dunno what you mean by 'various sources'....

On the Concord release, disc 2 which is TOD, several cues are from different sources, some sound thinner, some sharper and then you have the ones which were featured on the original 1984 soundtrack release.
Same goes for disc 4

So, what i am saying is that the sound quality varies.

Indiana Jones is the whole generation on which I grew up, his adventure films capture from the very beginning and has much more interesting story line than any kind of thrillers. As for me, the image of Indiana Jones is his own kind of cowboy Bond. Unfortunately, there're a few such films, but I found a couple on http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0481113/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2 and one more interesting on https://bestsimilar.com/movies/15789-indiana-jones-and-the-temple-of-doom that show nearly the same atmosphere.

Does anyone know how long Concord's lease is? This year clocks in at 10 since they first got it.

Sony got Star Wars for 20 years in 97 when the big labels still reigned. Hopefully Lucasfilm was wise to shorten the lease (like today's average is 4-5 with the specialty labels) as the limited market started to show real promise in 08.

I'm really hoping for a La La Land or Intrada style presentation of the Quadrilogy far more than any other franchise, even Star Wars.

How cool would it be to find us talking about a Black Friday/Christmas announcement later this year?

That would be simply awesome. Let's hope this is the year!

I had half hoped that Concord's vinyl release would be their last attempt to cash in before their license expired,
similar to what Sony's did reissuing the Star Wars scores fore they lost that license.

As with Star Wars, I'd expect all product to disappear once their license is up. I still see that you can get Concord's Raiders vinyl so they must still have the license. Unless it expires in the next month or so I doubt we would be looking at any newly expanded releases this year. But would be happy to be proved wrong.

I keep hearing people write that all previous Star Wars albums have cleared out, but in checking Amazon this week still see both CD and LP box sets available at or less than list prices.

I can think of other examples of old still in print with new (Star Trek TMP 20th Anniversary)

Btw...if any New Yorkers want a copy, a sealed ultimate CD version current sits (untouched for two months) in the Academy Records (18th street) Window for $45.99.

Been listening to fan edits of the score. Didn't realise how much music is still missing, plus alternates, instrumental of the openingsong, and a remastered edition of the original album. Could easily be a 3 disc set.
