I just ran across this film on YouTube this afternoon. After all these years (and always running them down) I think I've found my answer to those occasional threads about "Jerry's Worst Score."

That main title is singulary ghastly and, keep in mind, I have seen SPIES and TAKE HER, SHE'S
MINE.

Love it. I think those "whoopy" sounds in the Main Titles might have been stuck in after the fact. Whatever, it reminds me of SEBASTIAN and all that stuff. But, admittedly, not quite as good. In fact, if you're feeling irritable, it's bloody annoying. This one would be for private listening on headphones, not for my garden parties. Hey but hang on - that bit at 01:30 just after the titles, is cooooool, Tony! Good bit at 1:03:50 too - those squawky free-form horns are a jazzy delight straight out of his tremendous A STEP OUT OF LINE.

The old joke is that so-and-so ran the gamut from A to B. Jerry Goldsmith really did seem to run that gammy from A to beyond Zeeeee - and into infiniteeeee!
