It is time to move FSM into the year 2018., and beyond.
This place is so outdated.
My main issue is....I don’t buy CDs anymore...can we not have two version...The very old way..cds for sale..cds..ain’t that a 1980’s deal.
The bright new future is digital downloads...ie Apple, Google and Amazon.
Mr. Kendall..and La La Land and others who produce 3000 cds can u not start offering Digital Downloads...I am not buying anymore CD’s...takes up too much space...
I hope many many others will tell you where you can stick your digital downloads. I love CD's that I can touch and listen to.
They take up Space! Speaking of Space..someone posted John Williams Lost in Space Music on u tube...and I have never heard many cues. It is very nice work by Williams.

Yes, but why should that preclude downloads? Why is one thing in opposition to the other?
The person that posted this thread is asking for an end to CD's. I wouldn't mind digital downloads for those that prefer them, but not at the expense of not having CD's.
While I'm sure the turf war between CD-lovers and downloadophiles in this thread will be delightful to read, it's a moot point, as FSM does not have download rights to almost any of their CDs.
The licensing deals that make many of the amazing soundtracks we have seen released possible is often contingent on it being ONLY a CD release. The companies that own the scores will often retain digital rights to the masters, which is for them sometimes the only incentive to let places like FSM, Intrada and La La Land remaster and release the scores at all. You may see your downloads eventually - I know that MGM releases its remastered scores digitally, for one. But I wouldn't complain about the CD releases - in a way, they are frequently the only reason these fabulous releases happen at all.
No Limited Amount of Produced CD’s. Everyone gets a digital download. With only 3000 pressing..u limit what we buy. But with digital downloads from FSM...everyone is on board..with the 50th anniversary of Superman: The Movie..by John Williams
No Shipping No more u guys bitching..I ain’t got my cd..it is been over a month.

Well there we all go. Dammit.
Don’t get me wrong..I have CDs of Williams and Barry and Goldsmith..but being real...i have not purchased a cd in years..I like download files..it is instant..and I don’t have to wait for weeks or months for that special cd.

Soundtrack Company: May we remaster and rerelease "x" score you own the rights to?
Film Company: We'd rather not.
Soundtrack Company: What if we remaster it, do a limited run of CDs, and then you can keep the rights to your cleaned-up, wonderful-sounding, digital download version?
Film Company: That sounds like a good deal for us, sure!
I would love to release things digitally, but the studios just don't give us the rights. On a very, very rare occasion we get rights and when we do, the release comes out digitally as well.
Furthermore, you are not taking into account union deals, mechanical royalties and 3rd party deals that virtually make it impossible for a digital release to come out.
What is also not understood is that there is currently nowhere to download cd quality and/or high resolution files of all or most previously released or new release music. When they start releasing full cd quality downloads in conjunction with most releases then I’ll consider switching over. Until then I’ll continue to enjoy my CDs, SACDs, DVD Audio, and Blu-ray Discs for the experience the artist intended and I prefer. Not to mention liner notes and owning a physical copy that I can “download” to whatever format I desire. Geez, give me a break.
Hats off to all of these great labels for making such great, high quality music on cd and accompanying (and often educational) materials available to us. My wallet is speaking for itself to these companies.

No broken CD’s ...
Yeah, just region restricted purchases. They would sell even less and more would pirate. Going all digital would kill the industry.
