I'm guessing licensing issues is why they're not available anymore but I thought some JB fans might have downloaded them when they first aired. Thanks for any help! mdh721 (at) truman (dot) edu

The Desert Island Discs from 1967 was wiped by the BBC, unsurprisingly. The others would have dropped off iPlayer some time ago, but it's possible fans might have recorded them. I didn't. smile

The previously-lost 1967 edition of Desert Island Discs which features John Barry has been recovered, and can now be heard here:

It's one of ninety editions of the series recently re-discovered...

There's a list of the recoveries here:

It says in the opening that only that clip survives so I am a little confused by the BBC's article and the BBC's audio clip. Has the whole programme been recovered or just those three minutes?

The BBC Sounds site says the 3 minute clips are 'highlights' from which I take that they have complete episodes.

In the introduction the presenter says "this is the only extract we have of this episode."

Sorry if I raised anyone's hopes... I hadn't listened to it, and was under the impression that they were talking about whole episodes.

Still, the recovery of ninety episodes that were thought to be lost shows that there may be more out there - don't give up hope!
