Looks like a great venue, Peter. I'd be there in a heartbeat if I lived anywhere near there.

I didn't see this thread until today, but I can certainly try to attend!

In all seriousness, I'd like to attend and actually don't live too far from the venue. Sadly I'm also in a conflicting meeting at this time in Playa Del Rey... So hopefully enough people will show up to the first one so there will be a next one!

Won't be there for sure - can't cross the ocean... but keeping my fingers crossed for a successful meeting smile

Wish I could. Wee bit far from Scotland though :-)
One of my friends on here tried to do a similar thing here and got a rousing response of .. 2!

Spook, where are you based in Scotland out of interest? Edinburgh here... smile Maybe I could make it 3!

(Sorry, new to board, there's prob an easier way to contact direct!)

I’m in Glasgow mate. Might try and sort something out. I’m sure there’s a few more Scottish folk on here.

I have bright red hair. Does that count?

Had a great time yesterday February 24th at Clifton's talking scores and just talking life. Lots to discuss. Everyone received an FYC from my collection and I raffled off (for free) one of the few LP to CD sets I was given as one of the producers of the set. Just trying to make the event as special as we can. Met a new soundtrack fan, so glad he came out! One friend came from NY after loosing his father and another from Bakersfield and who he lost a dear friend recently so this meet up was well needed. We'll do this again for sure, hope others come to! Just sitting around talking film music with other like minded NICE people smile

Folks, friendly ribbing is fine. No making fun of people or their looks. These are real people.

Don't do it again.

Um, what are you talking about? I asked if that was a woman in the back because it's a distant photo and I couldn't tell and was interested if any women attended. WTF? I made fun of no one's looks - never had and never will. Shame on you, Lukas, shame on you and whoever reported it, IF someone reported it. To be VERY clear: I asked if it was a woman in the back. Period. Nothing about looks or anything else, just so no one thinks I actually said what Lukas in inferring I said.

And the comment about Marshall was, of course, very friendly, since he's a dear friend and someone I work with all the time. Keep your interpretations of my posts to yourself - this is about YOU, Lukas, not me. This is beyond obnoxious.

And I wasnt making fun of anyone's looks. A woman at the head of the table suggested an authority figure, so I made a TREK reference. It wasnt meant in a mean-spirited way, and I imagine anyone involved might get a chuckle, but I can understand if you want to extend perfect decorum.

I am envious of this group. Wish I lived closer to L.A. Would love to know who the lady is in the background. We just don't have enough female soundtrack lovers at FSM.

Glad you all had an enjoyable time.

Bruce, I received several complaints. You can just take a break from this board.

I didn't see your comment, but he wasn't calling you out, he was calling me out and he was wrong and should apologize for his stupid rush to judgment based on being "triggered" or whatever the hell this was about. Certainly it was not about my simple question of whether the person at the back of the table was a woman.

Then the complainers are dopes. Total, complete, unabashed dopes. Sorry, asking if someone is a woman is not commenting or making fun of their looks, it's a question. And every single one of the reporters AND Lukas should apologize for this obnoxiousness. But neither they or you will. Here's a hint: If you think I've said something about someone's looks post about it so I can put that to rest right away. I'm disgusted by this disgusting business. What a world we live in. You bet I'll take a break from this board, but not because you're telling me to.
