But that is the reality of the world we live in. If a label can't afford to license a track for an album, then we have to either accept the fact that we don't have that track, or find another way of buying it. Let’s say the next Bond song is performed by the band Wheat Goat. Of course, Wheat Goat has an exclusive deal with Dope Jelly Records. That means that that song cannot appear on a soundtrack album by any other label no matter the price. And as I think you’re acknowledging, while you might pay extra (unclear how much) to get a song, there are surely others here who wouldn’t. What’s the ratio of one to the other? I have no idea.
