Would anyone have any recommendations of sites that cover/review new game or anime soundtracks, with a particular leaning towards ones of an orchestral nature? There are a huge swath of amazingly beautiful soundtracks released all the time for games and anime, but most of these fly under my radar or else sell out on CD (or inflate to crazy prices) before I even become aware of them. I keep an eye on OriginalSoundVersion.com, but that focuses almost exclusively on games. Also, it would also be great if there was a way to actually sample things before buying. Because CDs are still so popular in Japan, its practically impossible to find anime music on Spotify (if at all) and their game music content is also devoid Japanese releases (apart from a few Final Fantasy titles). I know this site is for film scores, but a lot of game and anime soundtracks have the kind of old fashioned symphonic scores that film music enthusiasts would adore!

Funny you should mention Kingdom Come: Deliverance, as it was recently referenced on OriginalSoundVersion.com and you can listen to the whole album on Spotify. I started it the other day, but have yet to finish it off. I don't think there is a physical CD of it though. Bandcamp is a fantastic resource, especially when it comes to smaller artists trying to make a splash (and a living!). Nice how many artists offer both physical and digital options. But the trouble is finding these gems in the first place!

http://www.rpgfan.com/soundtracks1.html is a great resource for RPG video game soundtrack reviews (with samples). Ah yes, RPGfan.com used to be one of my go-to sites, so thanks for reminding me of it. I always appreciated the samples they gave (saved me from some poor blind-buy decisions many a time!) and links to sites that stock the soundtracks under review.

@LordDalek I've used vgmdb.net many times over the years. It certainly is an invaluable resource for finding out proper production notes of obscure games or English translations of Japanese only tracks. But their forum seems like its more-so for the upkeep of the vast database and there isn't much talk/discussion of new soundtracks released. Its almost like I'm looking for the anime or game score equivalent of this board! @makro Thank you for your podcast link. I will have a look at your site and see what jumps out album wise! @ryanpaquet Apologies, even though its now quite obvious, I never put it together that you were the same person posting on OriginalSoundVersion, even though you've probably referenced the site here before! I really must congratulate you and your co-conspirators at the site for keeping the game-score flame burning. Your efforts are much appreciated! And now that you mention it, I have seen the odd game and anime post on here from yourself and few others from time to time. So thank you for the other site suggestions.
