Man this is much cooler than what the FX dudes at Netflix came up with! Keeping the spirit of the original design and making it work.

Fan inspired design:

Boring Netflix design. How can Hollywood continue to get this stuff so wrong?

Not nearly as wrong as they got the robot. Did you see it in the new trailer?

They made the robot from the crappy 1998 film look like a masterpiece.

Isn't Parker Posey playing Dr. Smith in this thing?

I guess we won't be hearing her call the robot a "bubble headed booby".

The new Jupiter 2 looks like the Millenium Falcon, but not so much that I don't like it.

Oh, and to that new robot -- taken from another forum:

That is a very mild reimagination. Front end looks like they took the film version Seaview 8-window "windshield" configuration. That space station makes Jupiter 2 look like Jupiter 2 out of a 80, J2 is one grape with the space station being the bunch. If the rest were as good as this reimagination, I do not reject it immediately. Still the adagio goes: "Why another remake? Stop leaning on the work of others and develop something yourselves".

They made the robot from the crappy 1998 film look like a masterpiece.

The 1998 B9 WAS a masterpiece and the film was absolutely not crappy at all. if for nothing else there was no ironic ridiculing of the source material as all the other show from the past films did. Yes the story was boring but that was all. All the actors did a fine job. Alright Penny should not have been portrayed the way she was and that Helium-voice was an irritant but the rest is excellent and very unjustly maligned.

Respectfully disagree. Hated the movie B9 who looked like the cousin of Johnny 5. If C3PO and R2D2 can remain virtually unchanged for over 40 years so can B9. The J2 was one of the worst spaceship designs I've ever seen. Some kinda organic egg thing. I can't even tell the front from the back. Matt LeBlanc was cringe worthy, well the whole cast was terrible really. There were some good actors but they were miscast. Total fail as a reboot.

I like that update in this video, but I think that is too big of a saucer.

The score is the only salvageable thing from that terrible film.

Remember, when you get home tonight, look your wife in the eye and tell her with the full passion you can muster: "I love you, wife" -- shitty 1998 film style.

Ugh.

Pardon me for saying so, but husbands and wives frequently say those kinds of phrases to each other--for eons.

Yes, "I love my wife". But not "I love you, wife".

Honestly... I really liked that line in the movie! Don't know why, but to me it was touching!
