I really don’t post much on the boards, but was anyone aware that Commando will be coming out on 2 LP vinyl? It’s up for preorder on Real Gone Music. There’s like 2 different limited variants. It may have already been posted here on the boards, but I didn’t see anything on here mentioning it.

Didn’t even know the same company put Predator on vinyl too.

The only real regret I have about the resurgence of vinyl (bearing in mind that I can’t ever see myself going back to it in any way whatsoever) is that in HMV it takes up space and pushes out some of the stock that I am interested in. I think it mainly affects the “classical” section, but I’m sure the other less-popular genres such as jazz or world music are getting squeezed as well.

I want HMV to survive, for which they need sales of whatever’s in vogue. But I’ve never followed fashion for the sake of it. The hot pants were a comfort thing.

Pretty cool.

Just a few weeks ago, my dad gave me a turntable and a good selection of his LPs (mostly classical and some pop), so now it seems I'm caught up in the vinyl craze too -- even if I'm too young to have much of a connection to it (I became musically conscious in the cassette age -- the "dark age" between vinyl and CDs).

So releases like this are suddenly interesting again. COMMANDO is a bit of a weird choice, though, isn't it?

As much as I am a huge Horner fan-48 hrs being one of my favorites- Commando is such a chore to get through. There is a good 20 minute album in there! Also wonder if Predator sounds better on vinyl. Bit of hiss on the Intrada release in the quieter parts.

Been following Horner for sometime early in his career many of his scores/style sounded alike. 48 Hrs chase music cues are good, lively, but there later mimicked in Gorky Park, Commando, Etc, its not a knock to the maestro I like them scores, but at the same time fans say a chore, so I understand.

BTW. Great release, its nice to see vinyl blooming.
