I just returned from a screening of the remastered "Heat". While the picture and sound were stunning, one of the audio changes during a crucial moment took me out of the film. I noticed that the cue for the moment when De Niro prepares to ambush Pacino was moved earlier (ending before the runway lights begin to turn on), and "God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters" faded in much later than in previous mixes. Did anyone else notice this? Did it bother you?
Wish I had been there TO get annoyed by this! I just had to tip in, he monkeys with the audio mix in every incarnation of this film. Chances are the mix you first heard and knew is nigh impossible to hear again, unless you saw/bought it once and that was it.
Yeah, but I couldn't tell if this change in audio was a technical error or a deliberate creative choice; it seemed more like the former to me. It's a shame because the rest of the mix was perfect, even correcting an error during the diner conversation
