A new assignment:
http://filmmusicreporter.com/2018/03/26/alan-silvestri-to-score-robert-zemeckis-the-women-of-marwen/

EDIT:
Changed the thread title since the film has changed names. Was previously: "The Women of Marwen".

New trailer

This looks like incredibly fertile ground for Silvestri.

Not sure if the title got changed at some point but it looks to be (officially) WELCOME TO MARWEN.

Well... that looks SCARY!

But on the other hand if there is anyone who can pull off something like this chic-flick-ed version of Small Soldiers, it is probably Zemeckis.

Soundtrack from Back Lot.

I've amended the thread title to reflect the new name.

Balfe should have gotten this and Silvestri the new Predator film. :-(

Jackman, but why break up the act?

I'm sure the score will be awesome, but the movie...

The most baffling trailer I've seen in a long-time, apparently a treacly "inspirational" story with Carell as yet another damaged man-child, aided by creepy GI Joe/Barbie fantasy effects. Yikes!

This is one of those where people say "Nobody thought he could pull it off…", but on this one, I seriously doubt there'll be a "but he did!"

At least it´s something I have never seen before. And I´d rather have a movie which tries something different not pulling it off completely than a thousand movies doing what everyone expects.

Having said that, Robert Zemeckis is a fantastic director. He will pull this off, I am very sure.

I just looked at the trailer.........
That looks pretty damned COOL... albeit creepy as hell!
It might be the first movie I see at the theatre since December!

I couldn't understand what I was watching, no it was more like couldn't "believe" what I was watching. Looks like it will have plenty of opportunity for Silvestri to stand out, but the movie just looks - unfortunate. big grin

I'm a big Zemeckis fan (tough to think of a bad movie he's made), so I'm willing to go with him wherever. I haven't watched this trailer because I don't watch trailers in general (and especially for films I'd like to be totally surprised by), but I'm always up for a new Zemeckis movie.

This trailer gives the BOOK OF HENRY trailer a run for its money in the "wait...what?" moments department.

So, so weird, but great potential for Silvestri.

Look on bright, it's not directed by Leslie Mann's husband.

"You got to help us find Marvin."
"Marvin? It's 'Marwen', you Darwin!"

The trailer makes it seem like a short story loaded with inspirational hallucinations to stretch the runtime, but I'm still in.

I haven't viewed the trailer yet, but I agree that even Zemeckis' duds are still kinda enjoyable and interesting.
Even ALLIED was silly but watchable and entertaining and I loved THE WALK.
So I will deffo give this one a go and yeah, cool if it's a brave new world for Silvestri.

It’s based on a documentary!

It seems to be Zemeckis's modus to spotlight the extraordinary in the ordinary. Unless it's his percap movies, in which anything goes.
