I don't think its coincidence Silva has no rights and the first Blu-Ray is coming soon from Warner.
You wouldn't by any chance have a source for that?
You just have to take my word for it, right now. But I have seen the official cover for the Blu-Ray. It will be 1 cut of the film and it does feature a commentary with Szwarc.
That's great news! I hope this bodes well for some kind of mega Superman-Salkind franchise celebratory issue for the 40th of S: TM (including some Ultra HD love for the latter film).

Delighted Supergirl is finally a blu-ray release. Yes I believe it's coming from Warner Archive Collection.
A shame it's only one cut (Shout Factory or Arrow would have gone to town on it) but one is better than none. I just hope they used the right take of °First Flight" this time (unlike the WB DVD)
Surprised at the demand for Supergirl. It's been released expanded already and the score is basically Explores (which I like) on electronic steroids. That squeaking sound in the main theme is really annoying.
I really enjoy Explorers (I missed out on Intrada's expanded release), but Supergirl is a belter of an action/adventure score, and one of my favorites.
If that could get an enhancement I would be very happy.
For Apollo 13, something tells me that Intrada may have that one, given the Universal/Horner connection.
But I'm always happy to see what wonders will be released.
MV, I know we all have to wait for your official announcement but any updates for the 2nd release date for April? This is starting to feel like Black Friday especially with all the titles being mooted on this thread!

Here is the reasons.
Goldsmith was suppose to do Superman. There is historic significance here. Its a pretty fun score. Big heroic moments and that classic Goldsmith 80s sound. A charming love theme. The film has several cuts and both the Varese and Silva releases are poor. Both have different takes of the same cues, the sound quality is not so great and from what we have heard Goldsmith did a lot of alternates and unused stuff. That squeaking sound you don't like in the main title, has many versions. And probably one without it.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was enough for Supergirl to be complete, 2-3 discs.

It needs a sonic overhaul. The Silva CD, while a godsend at the time, is mixed all over the place. The electronics are completely missing from the Final Confrontation cue, for example (though return - somewhat overblown - for the end title!)
