Has anybody else seen this 1988 TV movie that ran on CBS? It's in the same vein as the hallmark hall of fame films I suppose, about a young boy diagnosed with AIDs, his parents trying to accept the prognosis, and helping him prepare for death. JNH put together a short heartbreakingly beautiful piano score that has never been released. Am I the only human being on the earth who would be interested in a release of this short soundtrack?
If you haven't heard of it, the film is available on YouTube, and a few good samples of the score can be heard at 14:57 (my favorite cue), the very beginning of the film, and at 1:31:17.

I have, fantastic little made for television tearjerker film, and the music by JNH is right up there with later gems he did like "My Girl" A score that I consider to be a holy grail score of his that I've also been after for years and it has STILL yet to receive any sort of proper release.
As a fan of 80s JNH I have heard of the film but I have never seen it. I see that even Richard Thomas of Stalking Laura fame plays in the film. Is there enough material for a release? I guess there should be at least 30 minutes to warrant a release.
The director Mike Robe worked several times with composers like Mark Snow and Craig Safan in the 80s/90s, but this was the only time he worked with JNH. In the new millennium Robe has worked many times with composer Laura Karpman.
I would say this was worthy of a release absolutely. I've always remembered the music and found it to be moving with sincere emotion by JNH in his writing.
Everybody likes to credit "Philadelphia" as being the first mainstream HIV/AIDS movie, but Go Toward The Light was one of the first ever, if not THE first dramatization to feature not only a well-told story about the severity and effects of the condition, but also one which surrounded the death of an AIDS infected haemophiliac child through Factor VIII contaminated products during the 1980s. The only other film of that period I can think of that handled the same subject was "The Ryan White Story".
To be honest when I clicked on this I thought it was a new and upcoming film that he was working on right now.
Of his early stuff I personally is more interested in such scores as Tough Guys and Marked For Death but hey if this ever comes out I might be interested in it since I really like the music of JNH.
