I was a huge fan of Bell when he first went to the paranormal format.
One of the great things about living on the Left Coast is that his show started at 10 p.m so I could listen to most if not the whole show (East coasters started at 1 a.m. Most of his audiences consisted of long -haul truckers.)
ANyway, Art was always a bit of an eccentric and quit and came back so many times I lost count (usually for unexplained or ridiculous reasons).
His last return to radio ocurred a few years ago on SIrius satellite. By this time, the thrill was gone for me.
However, some of his fans- apparently suffering from Alzheimers- went nuts and purchased satellite radios and, I kid you not, LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTIONS to Sirius.
Needless to say, he QUIT after being on the radio only a few weeks!
