John Debney has scored the new film Beirut, starring Jon Hamm and Rosamund Pike and directed by Brad Anderson. I have not heard any news about a score release so far; if anyone knows differently or has an update, please let us know!

I'm a big fan of director Brad Anderson as well as Debney's action/thriller mode. Two of my favorite Debney scores were for Anderson films - Stonehearst Asylum and The Call. The Call in particular managed to showcase a side of Debney that you rarely get to hear, and I really dig it - dark, suspenseful, strongly electronic contemporary cool. I love Debney's score for Alex Cross for the same reasons. When I heard both of these scores in 2012-2013 I was stunned at the chameleon-like way he effortlessly and brilliantly approached the techno-thriller and action/crime genres.

Fingers crossed for a Beirut release!

I can't recall anything about The Call, but Stonehearst Asylum was a cool soundtrack

The Call was pure torture... movie more than the score, though.

Watched this the other night, not a bad film, though not on the same level in terms of thrills as Argo. Score wise Debney's music is quite close to Stoning of Soraya M. I'm also fairly certain that Argo's score was temped for the film.
