That Superman TAS set is one of the best things LLL put out. Wish/hope for a volume 2 some day.

I hate to know, since S: TAS is terrific scoring, but how many of the original announced units were pressed?

And you said Superman wasn't selling that well.

Of the hundred-plus releases I've worked on, SUPERMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES is one of the albums I'm most proud of. Everyone involved gave their all, and the music is just amazing ... superhero scoring for the ages! I'll be sorry to see this set go out of print, and hope we get the chance to bring you more incredible music from the series in the future.

After 4 years, multiple sales and discounts we will have sold 1500 units of this magnificent set. That's half the run.

Btw, 10 more left.

DOES Smallville album contain any themes by John Williams in the score

It is unfortunate that they did not release any music which includes John Williams triumphant themes...
But in the TV series, especially in the Season 2 (episode 17) titled Rosetta - which stars Christopher Reeve as Dr. Virgil Swann - there are fantastic interpretations of The Fortress Of Solitude cue! Perfect for the scene! That is my favourite cue of the entire series! I also like The Krypton Fanfare usage at the end of Season 2 (the episode titled Exodus) - is really emotional, to me that is... I am still happy for this release, which as it seems - is likely to be sold out in about a week! Treat yourself, and buy it!

heard some files on the site but it did not gave me the impression that smallville was the album to buy

However SUPERMAN: ANIMATED SERIES did include Walker's Batman theme so I ordered it

1,500 units? That's sad and disappointing.

If I had the money and there was a GoFundMe (or similar site) to fund a Volume 2, I'd hell out.

It doesn't have the larger fanbase that Batman had.

So here's the plan, the next set do at 2-3cds and 1500. It will sell. There's still some great music to be released from Superman.

$60 dollars is a lot to shell out. (Plus shipping) I just grabbed The Jurassic Park Collection for $60.
I can't put out another $60 for S-TAS. I know they've had some sales but I unfortunately overlooked this title. But the samples sound great. If you can pick it up do so now!

Check out my review at MainTitles.net, solium, if you need an extra push.

Superman has a fanbase as large as Batman, as characters. I know the shows were not on the same footing fame wise, but lesser-known stuff has sold out.

Well, that plan does work. The money has already been sunk into getting this set out and it doesn't looks like it sold enough to recoup those costs. It may cost a certain amount, because of changed re-use fees as well as other factors, just to get a second volume out and that may not be able to make up financially from a short 1,500 unit run.

We have a tentative vol 2 box set in the wings that would be either 6 or 7 discs that would complete the series for just die hard fans. Ultra limited edition release (probably 500 units) with a possible cost of $150. Still working out the numbers and seeing if its possible. Toying with pre order concept.

Thoughts?

$150 is a LOT of money for a 6-7 disc set. In fact it's how much Lukas charged for his Ron Jones project set of twice as many discs. I thought the 6 disc Mission: Impossible set was already kinda pricey at $100; certainly more expensive per-disc than these large sets tend to be. BUT I made the $100 happen for Mission: Impossible because the music is great, and I am sure I would find *some* way to afford the $150 for the remaining Superman TAS scores. Christmas present from my wife or something, if you can time it for a Black Friday MV. smile

It would be easier to swing if I were looking at a price point of $100ish or even $120. Maybe at only 500 copies that wouldn't recoup your costs. (Maybe consider 750 at least? I would think 500 copies might not last long enough for everyone interested to set aside the money and get it.)

But honestly, however you have to make it happen, please make it happen! This stuff is on the quality level of Batman TAS scoring (even if that is also closer to my heart, to be honest) and *every single score* deserves to be released complete.

If it is 'super'-limited it might make it more attractive to collectors and 'super' fans alike.

I'd love to be able to pick it up - but I must confess I haven't even listened to my full first volume set yet...
