We have a tentative vol 2 box set in the wings that would be either 6 or 7 discs that would complete the series for just die hard fans. Ultra limited edition release (probably 500 units) with a possible cost of $150. Still working out the numbers and seeing if its possible. Toying with pre order concept.

I appreciate you mentioning this. In my mind, if something is available for preorder I will gladly put the money down. That way I pay for it immediately and all I have to do is wait for it to show up. Say the preorder period is open for a month with a pending release date of 6 months later. Once the preorder period is expired, it might show up an a place on your website for 'preordered items' so other people could contact you and throw money your way, but it would likely be less than those that preordered it initially.
I'd imagine more of the items will be pressed because some people cannot pay in advance, but that might give you a more accurate representation of who is willing to pay for said item to have a more realistic estimate.
In short, I wholeheartedly support the preorder idea for unique items like box sets that wouldn't be released through any other form. With varying funding websites using this format for their rewards, it sounds like an ideal response.

The price is high, but the real killer for me (international fan here) would be the shipping, tax and customs duties that would be heaped upon this bad boy. It would probably lean more towards the $200 mark when all is said and done.
That being said, I'd still put my name down now in the hopes that you could make this happen. Volume 1 is a gem of a release and finishing off the music for the series would be a dream. I'd happily go for a pre-order/deposit situation if that made things a little bit less of a crazy gamble for you.
