That's a tough one. Copied off my list in this bazillionth thread about what we want: https://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?forumID=1&pageID=1&threadID=107261&archive=0 Five selections: "Making Contact" (Paul Gilreath) "P.J." (Neal Hefti; and I'd like to hear both rejected scores, by Dave Grusin and Percy Faith) "Darker Than Amber" (John Parker) "When Eight Bells Toll" (Angela Morley) (a re-recording of the theme does not count as a release of the original score) "Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here" (Dave Grusin; and I'd like to hear the two rejected scores by Jimmy Webb and Patrick Williams)

1. Sinbad the Sailor (Roy Webb) -- only a 5 min. suite released on the Cloud Nine Roy Webb compilation; this is my #1 holy grail right now, a superb work full of sweeping and exotic seafaring themes...Webb's greatest work ever, IMO and my favorite unreleased Golden Age score! 2. Black Patch (Jerry Goldsmith) -- not a note of this superb score has ever been released, even on a Silva compilation or something...but hear some great highlights of it taken from the film in our podcast here: http://goldsmithodyssey.buzzsprout.com/159614/656592-episode-1-black-patch-1957 3. Face of a Fugitive (Jerry Goldsmith) -- ditto: http://goldsmithodyssey.buzzsprout.com/159614/673893-episode-3-face-of-a-fugitive-1959-toccata-1958 4. The Spiral Staircase (Roy Webb) -- what can I say? This superb composer is woefully underrepresented and this is one of his best works. 5. Sense & Sensibility (Martin Phipps) -- SUPERB BBC miniseries score from only 10 years ago; tragically unreleased Support Your Local Sheriff (Jeff Alexander) gets an honorable mention because though it has never been released on CD, at least there was a wonderful isolated score track on the Twilight Time Blu-ray release of the film. You mean complete releases, old friend? (Hey, you got my reply to your email right?) I assume you realize that some of your suggestions aren't really "unreleased" having received full CD albums. Yavar

Yavar Yes, my brain tripped over thin air with that. I'll let it stand as proof of my folly. Although you could make an argument that League or Troy don't really count as "released" seeing as the former has all of two cues on the OST compilation and the later never saw a legit release (although it did see an, uhm, official dissemination...). *innocent whistling* And yes, I did get your eMail, but I suck and blow, to quote Jens, at replying to anything in a timely fashion these days...I'm on it, though. Hope all is well at your end!

Valdez is Coming (Charles Gross) The Man (Jerry Goldsmith) The Way of a Gaucho (Sol Kaplan) (Hopefully this one is on its way.) Red Skies of Montana (Sol Kaplan) Firecreek (Alfred Newman) ENDLESS NIGHT--Herrmann COMPANIONS IN NIGHTMARE--Herrmann KANSAS CITY BOMBER--Ellis THE NAKED ISLAND--Hiyashi HOMICIDAL--Friedhofer I'm also thinking of HELEN OF TROY (1955) and MARNIE, both of which haven't been legitimately released other than rerecorded suites. ALL superb choices as well, some of which (Firecreek, Way of a Gaucho, Endless Night) only narrowly missed being included on my own top 5. And if we're counting things where the original film recording is still unreleased, there's also Newman's AIRPORT of course! Thinking about it a little more actually, I might have to bump Phipps's superb Sense & Sensibility score to make room on the top 5 for Hugo Friedhofer's final film score/orchestral work: A Walk in the Forest (1974). It's been a few years since FSM user "manderley" mentioned that he had provided the complete score tapes in his possession to a label for release. I wonder what the hold up is, and what label it might have been (I'm pretty sure Intrada and Kritzerland were ruled out, but who else would be interested in Friedhofer? LLL? Quartet? Counterpoint or SAE, despite the infrequency of their releases?) Yes, my brain tripped over thin air with that. I'll let it stand as proof of my folly. Although you could make an argument that League or Troy don't really count as "released" seeing as the former has all of two cues on the OST compilation and the later never saw a legit release (although it did see an, uhm, official dissemination...). *innocent whistling* I understand...that's why I did use the qualifier "some" And yes, I did get your eMail, but I suck and blow, to quote Jens, at replying to anything in a timely fashion these days...I'm on it, though. Hope all is well at your end! Indeed things are going well. PC is postponed for at least half a year at this point, but as I have a new full time managerial job at a professional music organization this is actually a good thing. Yavar
