As I recently wrote in the thread for our podcast, The Goldsmith Odyssey, my cohosts and I have been searching high and low for a video copy of any kind for The Lineup (aka San Francisco Beat) -- specifically the three episodes of the final season which were scored by Jerry Goldsmith: Wake Up to Terror (on the Prometheus Early Years CD), Army Armitage, and Lonesome as Midnight.

I have found scattered episodes of the show uploaded online, but sadly none of these three which we need in order to cover them on our podcast. A bit surprising since Goldsmith only wrote shows for the final season (when it expanded to a full hour show), and I would think that season the most likely one to still survive in decent condition.

On the off chance these episodes may have been shown on TV at some point and recorded by a member of the FSM board, I am making this final appeal to the FSM board at large before we make the decision to skip coverage of The Lineup for now: if you have any information about the whereabouts of *any* of these three Goldsmith-scored episodes on video, please get in touch with us at mail@goldsmithodyssey.com.

Also, even though memories alone wouldn't be enough for our podcast coverage, I would also love to hear from anyone who remembers seeing this show (or these three episodes in particular) when it originally aired in the late 50s.

P.S. Though my cohosts prefer not to cover anything on our podcast without having the film context (also ruling out other things we have on CD like The Going Up of David Lev or the unaired Nick Quarry pilot, barring a miracle), Jens did recently clarify to me that he's fine with going back and doing special music-only episodes on them after we tackle the rest of Jerry's filmography in chronological order. But if we can find any of this material to view, covering them chronologically would obviously be ideal.

Bad news, I'm afraid. The set of The Lineup we found had 17 episodes but they were just a random 17 episodes, not corresponding to the 17 episodes that made up the final hourlong season of the show which Jerry provided the theme and three episode scores for. False alarm. It doesn't even seem like a single final season episode is on there, so we don't even have the main title sequence he scored.

That is, unless anyone here can help us out! It looks like we might just have to cover the Prometheus suite from Wake Up to Terror (Jerry's first episode) as music-only as a bonus, unless a miracle happens soon.
