Here is a list over the film composers who have scored the FEATURE movies produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. TV is not featured. The first couple of films were scored by Shire, Jarre and Frontiere, maybe not JB's choices, but from American Gigolo in 1980 things were on a roll. Mostly Moroder and Faltermeyer in the 80s, before the Zimmer era started with Days Of Thunder in 1990. Trevor Rabin soon became a favorite for JB, but now he hasn't been working for him since 2010. If Faltermeyer really ends us scoring the new Top Gun, we can really say the circle has been closed for the now 74 year old producer. I'm surprised he never worked with Steve Jablonsky though, knowing the composers relationship to Michael Bay. I would also have loved to see him work more with Mancina, but it all ended with Con Air. The endless Pirates-stuff is not my thing though, and I would have liked to see JB concentrate on other things. A few head-scratching choices have appeared though - Wendy & Lisa scoring Dangerous Minds, Trevor Horn scoring Coyote Ugly (although I loved that choice), James Newton Howard on Confessions Of A Shopaholic and Chris Young on Deliver Us From Evil. What is your favorite score from a Bruckheimer-production?

A fantastic, as of yet unreleased Bruckheimer score is MAX Q by Nick Glennie-Smith. It came out after The Rock and right around the time of Armageddon, and fits in perfectly with that genre. Yes, I remember seeing that one in the late 90s. Good theme. Didn't include it because it's a TV movie.

Lots of great ones on that list, but if someone put a gun to my head, I would maybe say THE ROCK. I just realized I haven't checked out many of the titles in the last 15 years or so, but of those, I really liked THE LONE RANGER. I guess a "Bruckheimer Special" could be a Celluloid Tunes podcast at some stage?

Definitely going with Bad Boys. Good choice. I remember loving the one score track on the 1995 song album. Reminds me of that summer.

Well, I guess the reason behind these choices might have to do with the composer having scored previous film(s) for the DIRECTOR so the composer and the director had established a working relationship prior to working with Mr. Bruckheimer. Anyway that`s my guess, what do I know? You are right about Howard and Young having worked with the directors before, but not Wendy & Lisa and Trevor Horn.
