Sony might be a bit of a roadblock as far as a release of Shrew, especially considering how difficult they can be concerning soundtrack releases, though a good release of this would certainly be welcome. As far as the current stream of Rota releases, I’m actually hoping that it will eventually lead to a remastered release of War and Peace, as the current releases don’t sound very good.

People don´t seem to understand that the current Rota expansions are limited to just one music publisher in Italy. So other music publishers have nothing to do with it at all.
All the current Rota releases come from the CAM catalogue which is nowadays owned by Sugar - neither TAMING OF THE SHREW (which has already been released three times on CD) nor WAR AND PEACE have anything to do with CAM/Sugar.
So you can rather expect - and probably for sure - double CDs of these few Rota scores during the next months:
OTTO E MEZZO, GIULIETTA DEGLI SPIRITI and ROCCO E I SUOI FRATELLI.
And mabye an expansion - provided there is more material at all available in the Sugar archives from such an old score from the mid-50s - of IL BIDONE.

The Verita Note label was indeed legitimate as they had a contract with GDM in Italy for several years so that they could release scores from the EMI and General Music vaults for the Japanese market.
I also have only the Screen Trax and the DRG CDs from the 90s, but not the one from Verita Note. However, you can see that the track listing and the sequencing is almost the same as the one for the DRG CD - with the one exception that there are two versions of the track "Katharina´s Revenge" (the longer one from DRG and a shorter one with only three minutes) on the Verita Note CD.
For all three CDs the material came from the EMI vaults in Italy. I suppose that better tapes than for Screen Trax had been found for the DRG which were then also used for the Verita Note CD. But maybe someone else who has both discs can say something about any differences in sound quality between DRG and Verita Note CD?

Timing or what? This past week I've been going through my entire Rota collection (20-plus CD's). The Cloud Nine 1991 score-alone CD of 'Romeo and Juliet' is simply stunning. It's a complete, unified musical experience on it's own. It's rather like a 'Symphony For R & J'. The sound quality is also superb. Whereas, DRG's 'Taming' - with it's brilliant main theme and variations is a little spottier as a stand-alone listening experience and the sound isn't as good as 'R & J'.

The problem with TAMING OF THE SHREW is that the album mock-up which Rota himself had put together for a planned LP in 1967 and which is available on the Screen Trax CD actually works better as a stand-alone listening experience than the complete presentation on DRG, but on the other hand the sound quality on this Screen Trax CD is much poorer as a second or third generation master tape copy had to be used.
