Stunned and saddened to learn of the death of brilliant LA session violinist Katia Popov (via Scoring Sessions on Twitter). She was also concertmaster of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.
She and I crossed paths years ago when I was in law school and her tax case ended up in one of my textbooks. Maybe my only happy memory from law school. I reached out to her on Facebook to let her know and found her to be delightful, gracious and self-effacing.
Warm condolences to her family, friends and fans. Sad day.
Very sad news. I can't believe it. So talented and beautiful person. A concert of film music with her as the main soloist was planned for just next week. My deepest and sincere condolences to her family members.
Such terribly sad news. I knew she was sick and was hoping she'd beat her disease. She was a wonderful woman, incredibly talented, and had many, many friends.
