None of my Postimage photos are showing up on the Movie/TV News.
Is anyone else having problems with Postimage?

Postimage has been down for more than a month. See:

BOB:

I have been using the alternate Postimage website for a long time including last Friday, but today it's not working for me.

I have been using the alternate Postimage website for a long time including last Friday, but today it's not working for me.

I didn't even know the new site was up until I checked today and saw that, while it exists, nothing is showing up on it. So, does that mean that even images coded "postimg.CC" aren't appearing?

------------------------

Well, based on the test below, apparently not.

And now it's back.

BOB:

The Postimage website accepts my photos, but when I post the link on FSM, nothing appears.

JUSTIN:

Can you post any Postimage photos on FSM?

No, images hosted there aren't showing. There must be server issues of some kind on their end.

JUSTIN:

Thanks.
I'll try later.

Or maybe they've done like Amazon, and made hotlinking forbidden altogether.

Then we'd have gotten a hot linking warning picture like other sites do. And the main page would tell us that. Plus, it's not hot linking -- PostImages is made specifically to host images and post them.

I think we all just need to wait a day and see what happens.

Did Postimages ever explain why they had to change websites?

As noted in another thread, Photobucket has lowered their charge for image hosting to $20/year (from $399).

As for me, I've moved on to www.imgur.com. This is my fourth site, after Photobucket, Imageshack, and Postimages.

I didn't see anything. If I had to speculate:

Maybe they wanted a plural form of "image", just to make it more clear you what kind of site they were.

Maybe they snoozed and loosed their domain name. There are unscrupulous people world wide that try to grab domain names if a company isn't paying attention and keeping them paid up, and them hold them hostages for a large price.
