FIRST MAN---photo released of Ryan Gosling starring in the Neil Armstrong biomovie.
THE LORD OF THE RINGS---Peter Jackson denied rumors he is involved in the Amazon tv series, "I’m not involved at all in THE LORD OF HE RINGS series. I understand how my name could come up, but there is nothing happening with me on this project."
TOP GUN 2---the sequel's working title is ISLAND PIZZA and has a character named Wrigley, who is the son of the late Nick "Goose" Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards).
THE PREDATOR---visual effects supervisor Jonathan Rothbart released a photo of the redesigned Hell-Hound and said the reboot/sequel will feature "other creatures to be named later". Also, rumors claim the well-publicized reshoots were filmed to include Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie.
THE JOKER---Jared Leto is the star/executive producer of the Warner Bros. standalone movie.
GLEN CAMPBELL---Glen Campbell's wife, Kim, said a biomovie is underway and that James Keach is the top candidate to direct it. Keach directed the documentary GLEN CAMPBELL: I'LL BE ME and the Johnny Cash biomovie WALK THE LINE.
DOOM---Amy Manson stars in the straight-to-video remake of the 2005 Dwayne Johnson movie based on the video game.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY---the voice cast for the MGM animated movie based on the cartoon characters includes Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz, Allison Janney and Bette Midler.
BILLIE HOLIDAY---Lee Daniels is in talks to direct the untitled biomovie with Andra Day being the top candidate to star.
13 REASONS WHY---Netflix renewed the series for Season 3.
TRIVIA---June 6 is the 74th anniversary of D-Day, so today's trivia is about SAVING PRIVATE RYAN.
Robert Rodat's script was inspired by the true story of Sergeant Frederick "Fritz" Niland, a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division on D-Day. He had three brothers, all of whom saw combat in World War II.
Sergeant Robert Niland was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and was killed in action on D-Day, Lieutenant Preston Niland was killed in action near Utah Beach the day after D-Day and Sergeant Edward Niland was listed as killed in action when his B-25 Mitchell bomber was shot down over Burma a month before D-Day.
With his three bothers presumably killed in action, Fritz was transferred back to England. Later it was learned that Edward was not killed in action, but was captured by the Japanese and was liberated in May, 1945.
Unlike the movie's lost Private Ryan, Fritz Niland was never lost and no Ranger unit was sent to find him.
