Still waiting for my CD to be shipped from BSX (and another order). Never had problem with BSX before. There is a first time for everything, I'd guess... There was a glitch in our website and your order went astray, however that’s been fixed and it’s on its way to you and you should have it by this time next week Ford A. Thaxton

Any chance we will ever see a release for his 80's tv score for Misfits of Science? An extended version of the title song is on the Basil Poledouris Collection #1. Ford A. Thaxton

Over the course of the last few weeks, I've gotten four different emails with "updates" to my BP Vol. 3 download, but no explanation of what was updated or changed. Does anyone know? There was an issue with the file names that caused WINDOWS users to have a issue in downloading this one, we had to make some changes to solve that issue, which is why got those emails. Ford A. Thank you Ford Thaxton, and the Dragon's Domain team! I still play Volume 1 quite a lot, especially disc 1. The second volume has equally gorgeous music. And now this new volume, I can't wait. Really nice stuff in here. -Rick O. Vol #4 is already in the works and that will be something quite different and interesting. Ford A. Thaxton

So...TINTORERA. What to say. It's interesting to see that a 32 minute LP (songs/score) was prepared for it, but never released (it is included here, after the full score, titled The Lost Album). A mixture of light pop/jazz cues that are nice enough, reminding me bizarrely, of the type of stuff John Williams would pepper some of his albums with during the 70s. The slow moving synth FX shark attack cues are also bizarre. I know he would have wanted to avoid copying the Williams style from JAWS, but the Carpenter-like moog stuff (echoes of ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 and LOGAN's RUN maybe?) and whale sounds are really too slow and dull to generate any cinematic excitement to my ears (if I ever saw the film on video during the 80s, all memory of it is gone). Both scores feature that synth effect that he used in A WHALE FOR THE KILLING and SUMMER LOVERS (but AWFTK is obviously way more orchestral, thematic and lively). All 4 volumes of this Basil Poledouris collection have been interesting for a variety of reasons. Volumes 1 & 2 are obviously the strongest, with their more traditional scores, but 3 & 4 offer a peek into his earliest, low-budget scoring efforts and a unique album full of sketches and demos for THE BLUE LAGOON (although I must admit the BLUE LAGOON release is probably THE biggest bottle top I've got in my collection of his...it's a real acquired taste). Did they sell well? (well enough for a Volume 5)?
