Contests and giveaways are wonderful of course, but I think most people here would be happier if they just celebrated by making their Club releases a lot more frequent. In any case, happy 40th Varese! Yavar

Yes, club releases more frequent with more attention given to premieres from the 50's,60's and 70's. Of course, my number one wish right now is an expanded THE COWBOYS from the 70's. Sure, if Varese Clubs actually get more frequent then premieres would be nice. But we already have Intrada/LLL/Quartet/Kritzerland who can do those, since there are no album rights to worry about. Especially with Varese currently only doing a couple batches a year, I'd much rather they exclusively concentrate on significant expansions of titles only they can release. Actually there are some premieres only they can do, because of the unique agreement when they released their album re-recordings. Rozsa's Eye of the Needle and Horner's Brainstorm (film recordings), I'm lookin' at you! Yavar

I remember their early releases, back in the day. I could never fathom that logo.

If Varese hadn't been around to release so many must-have soundtracks when no one else would, I would've gone stark-raving mad. Like Bill Conti's re-recording of "The Right Stuff." And about a hundred others. Also: the smell of those soundtracks. I wish Glade made a scent called "Fresh Varese LP." Happy anniversary, Varese. -
