WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13

DUMBO---teaser trailer released for the Tim Burton remake movie.

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QPdRfqTnt4

STAR WARS---George Lucas commented on his plans for a sequel trilogy that was abandoned when he sold Lucasfilm to the Walt Disney Company, "[My sequel trilogy] were going to get into the microbiotic world. But there's this world of creatures that operate differently than we do. I call them the Whills. And the Whills are the one who actually control the universe. They feed off the Force." The comments were in the companion book to the AMC series, JAMES CAMERON'S STORY OF SCIENCE FICTION.

WONDER WOMAN 1984---sequel photos show Gal Gadot and Chris Pine (Steve Trevor) in a mall.

THE PREDATOR---sequel photo released of the new Predator suit.

THE BATMAN---a source said Matt Reeves turned in "the first act of a new screenplay" which focuses on "a young caped crusader". This suggests that the new movie will be a prequel and that Ben Affleck won't be returning as Batman.

PROJECT X---Jackie Chan and John Cena star in this movie about a Chinese security contractor and an ex-Marine who team up to stop a major oil heist in the Middle East.

FORD VS. FERRARI---Jon Bernthal (THE WALKING DEAD) is in negotiations to play Lee Iacocca in the racing movie starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale.

THE OUTSIDER---tv rights were bought to Stephen King's latest novel.

THE FLY---Jeff Goldblum said he would like to return if a sequel to the 1986 David Cronenberg movie is ever made, "Maybe I show up as a grandchild of the original Seth Brundle, or Seth Brundle had a brother. Had a brother that emerges in some way!” Cronenberg was working on a sequel that was never made due to budget problems.

THE CHANGELING---tv rights were bought to the novel about a man whose search for his missing wife and son lead him to mysterious islands and haunted forests in New York.

WGN AMERICA---WGN ordered two new series. CARTER stars Jerry O'Connell as a disgraced star who played a detective who returns to his hometown to solve crimes. GONE stars Chris Noth in which a woman who was abducted as a child teams up with the FBI agent who rescued her to solve abduction cases.

TRIVIA---the 1966 remake of STAGECOACH had an all-star cast of Ann-Margret, Bing Crosby, Alex Cord, Mike Connors, Red Buttons, Robert Cummings, Stefanie Powers, Keenan Wynn, Van Heflin and Slim Pickens. Norman Rockwell painted the cast portraits for the closing credits and had a cameo as a "townsman".

THE PREDATOR---sequel photo released of the new Predator suit.

LOL! As much as I hate what Disney has done to Star Wars, Lucas is a lost cause. Can anyone remember Star Wars was basically an updated version of Republic serials? With tons of inspiration from other films and literature of course.

George Lucas wanting to make a Star Wars sequel trilogy about germs is a nice rejoinder to the goons that complain about the Star Wars sequels and say "George Lucas should come back."

So so true. Disney is most certainly on a path of over producing these things now. George is a great concept guy, and at one time, he hit upon a sweet spot of pop and myth that worked. But he should have let go of the whole thing after Empire.
