We lost one of our dogs to cancer.

Annie (the one nearest camera) hasn't been well for a while, it turns out she had bowel cancer so yesterday we had to say goodbye.

Above you can see Annie and Max on guard duty in happier days.

Annie, the "pack", both human and canine are missing you.

RIP.

Sorry to hear that news Chris.

I've said goodbye to enough pets (companions) to understand the heartache you feel.

Sorry Chris.

My dog started walking with a limp on the right side just a short while back.
We took him to vet and they did the biopsy and they told us he has cancer in his leg.
The most horrible part, she said we could cut his leg off, but in most cases the dogs only live a little longer, and there is a decent chance that the cancer invaded some other places in his body.

So we decided to treat him as best we can and give him the pain medicine and make him comfortable.
But I am dreading the time when we have to put him down.

It's a horrible decision to have to make, I think it's the worst part of being a responsible pet owner.

My condolences, losing a beloved companion is always very hard. In time you will remember fondly all the happiness and love they brought into the family unit and smile.

Deeply sorry for your loss, Chris. When reading your story, my feelings about my own dog started to surface. He's 11 years old, looks like 'Old Yeller', and has started to show (slight) downgrades to his 'energy level'. When the day comes and he's no longer around, well, I just don't know.

Losing a dog is like losing a family member. So sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. I have had to have two dogs put down, and each one was heart wrenching. My condolences to you and your family.

Adding my condolences Chris. Been following your doggy threads for years. Tough times I know, but having been through this (with cats) I'm pretty sure that once the pain has eased, you'll be left with a warm glow of good memories.
