Just back from a local con and surprised to nab a beautifully produced lp (with download card!) of Gene Hobson's score of STUDENT BODIES.

Haven't played this yet but wanted to share here. Very classy production, Alan Howarth looks to have been involved as well.
Will post more as this will quickly slink off the first page of postings....

Are there samples of this score available anywhere?

Wait, NOT a diss???
Gobsmacked...

Jeff, not that I'm aware of. I just happened on it at a convention in Sacramento, local boys I believe. Fully licensed (why Paramount got behind this in lieu of other stuff??), who knows. The mimeographed liner notes are a nice read from the composer.

No, never a diss when it comes to Student Bodies! I ordered the album well after your post, I think, so I had forgotten it was going to come with a download code. I was not looking forward to ripping another LP-only score (like the nightmare that was the 3LP set of Unsolved Mysteries, something I still haven't finished putting together digitally).

I bought an unmentionable of the movie on DVD about 10-15 years ago and haven't watched it since so I don't remember the music. But it sounds like it might be fun. I might have to pull it out and watch it again.

Shaun, I'm shocked, truly, figured I was one of 5 people that chuckles at this flick - horsehead bookends is the worst gag that inexplicably works.

Jeff, it's a pokey analog-synth effort, not TOO jokey but not straight like a Bernstein comedy score. There is a legit DVD out, I have one! Have to supply details when I'm home if interested.

"Malvert pee red!" Yeah, due another view of this one...
