I have a place on my right arch that has been itching like a motherf.... for the past several months... there's NO redness.... there's NO bump... there's NO rash.... there's NO dry skin.... there's NOTHING EXCEPT THE ITCH, and it's confined to a very small area. I've looked online and can find no answers.... anyone here know what the hell it could be? It's driving me crazy!!!!!!! frown

I know Americans choose to misspell some English words but I've never seen it spelt like that before....

"Pain in the arch", "Kiss my arch", "That's a nice arch"-can't see it taking off some how.

Jim, have you tried any OTC treatments at all? Maybe Cortisone or something?

Outside of seeing a doctor I'd "google" it.

Well... from what I read on those two sites, neither are any help, because, as I stated in my initial post, there's no redness, bump, rash, dry skin... nothing at all... just the itch!

I'd say there is something there, but it's not showing. If a moisturizer like Vaseline Intensive Care didn't work, and hydrocortisone didn't work, and there's nothing that your sole is coming in contact with that could cause chemical or mechanical irritation, then maybe you should see a dermatologist.

But don't let them do a biopsy. I went to a dermatologist once when I found a black blotch on the back of my thigh. I only ever got to see her physician's assistants, not the doctor, and they did a scrape biopsy. They took such a deep gouge out of me, it took over a month to heal, during which time I had to keep putting on petroleum jelly and changing the dressing. And it was nothing, just a "pigmented purpura," a harmless blood stain under the skin.

I think they knew at a glance it wasn't skin cancer, but kept me in fear and did the procedure because it's a revenue item. So see a specialist if all else fails, but don't let them walk all over you.

I don't know if this will help, but I suffered with the tops of my feet itching on and off, mostly on for months. I noticed it mostly at the end of the day. I'm on my feet most of the day at work and thought it might be related to that - heat, sweat, etc.
So I started wearing a different pair of shoes due to the old ones being worn out a few days ago and haven't had any itching since.
I'm cautiously optimistic.

Just remember: when scratching it, don't use that same hand for ... other handy things, if you know what I mean. That's an itch you don't want!
