Certainly the new scores I've listened to most so far this year are Ready Player One - Silvestri Cloverfield Paradox - McCreary Solo - Powell/Williams So them three it is.
Solo: A Star Wars Story - John Powell Westworld: Season 2 - Ramin Djawadi Black Panther- Ludwig Goransson Ploey - You Never Fly Alone - Atli Örvarsson Edie- Debbie Wiseman Max and Me - Mark McKenzie Ready Player One - Alan Silvestri Lost in Space- Christopher Lennertz Mary Shelley – Amelia Warner
1. The Miracle Season 2. Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom 3. Ready Player One 4. Solo 5. Super Furball (Just Released on CD!) 6. Infinity War (a bit over long on CD as it is) 7. Ant-Man and the Wasp (I didn't find this as good as Ant-Man was)
Not quite sure what people are seeing in Black Panther - that consisted of about only 3 minutes of musical ideas spread over an interminable release (some off-kilter drum beating, a gospel soloist doing his interpretation of ethnic wailing and a horn fanfare that was about 30 seconds long) Even whittled down versions to 20 minutes or less were just intolerable, but kudos to those who liked it!
Hope you like it. I have all Julio De La Rosa scores- this is my fave! Incredible! Snatch it upfolks. I just ordered another! Ryan watch the movie if youcan- Fantastic! Belen Rueda is a Goddess. A wonderful Actor.
Why are we still discussing 'favourite scores of 2018 so far...'. Shouldn't it be '2019 so far...'?
Please blame that one on me.
I am always on the lookout for soundtrack deals (Passion/Addiction), and a lot of times I'll see things for cheap but have no idea if they are good. I'll then search FSM to see if there's a thread for the score. If not, I'll do an overall FSM search to see if the score was ever mentioned. In this case, this thread was the only one I could find mentioning the De La Rosa score. So I bumped it letting everyone know about the deal.
Nope, not from me. Solium loves to bait me, but it's not a comment that is worthy of response. We'll do a "Best of 2019" thread in due time; there have been several highlights so far.

I'm disappointed, I expected a response more like this:
"He tasks me. He tasks me and I shall have him! I'll chase him 'round the moons of Nibia and 'round the Antares Maelstrom and 'round Perdition's flames before I give him up!"

Well hurry up! There's only four months left in the year. Or are all the great scores coming out in the last four months of the year? I'm confused.

Because there hasn't been a single good score in 2019?
D'oh!!!!!! Now you've done it! Prepare to be deluged with long lists of scores from Thor, Woods, Broxton et. Al.!
I will have to agree, there has been nothing in 2019 that I could call a favorite. Everything has been meh! Well, I might go How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, but this is the weaker of the 3. I am just waiting for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

*sigh*
There have been great scores so far, but I like to save yearly summaries untill the year is actually over.
But if you must know, these have all been highlights for me so far this year:
SWOON (Nathaniel Mechaly) REYKJAVIK STORIES (Atli Örvarsson) HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON III (John Powell) DOMINO (Pino Donaggio) XPERIMENTS FROM DARK PHOENIX (Hans Zimmer et.al.) TOO OLD TO DIE YOUNG (Cliff Martinez) ZOMBIELARS (Kaada) TOLKIEN (Thomas Newman) THE WHITE CROW (Ilan Eshkeri) ZWINGLI (Great Garbo) LES BRACELETS ROUGES (HitnRun) THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND (Michel Legrand) HALT AND CATCH FIRE 2 (Paul Haslinger) L'HEURE DE LA SORTIE (Zombie Zombie) ALL IS TRUE (Patrick Doyle) DON'T COME BACK FROM THE MOON (Johnny Jewel)

I LOVE HTTYD 1 & 2 but was disappointed in HTTYD 3. I guess its a good score but its not connecting with me for some reason. As far as the rest I haven't seen those films or heard those scores so can't comment on them.
