Geez and The Mummy Returns is really going to pinch the hell out of wallet - I broke a kneecap at work and have been waylaid for the last two weeks, and workman's comp is only 60% of my usual pay...but what the hell
Finally cashed in on the loyalty points. Totally forgot about those... thanks Intrada! As big of a Goldsmith fan that I am I was always luke warm about his Mummy score. But hearing some of this unreleased cues I had to pull the trigger.
Trying to decide if I want to order both or not. I haven't seen the 2nd one since it came out in theaters, and am not familiar with Silvestri's score. But it certainly sounds great by the samples.
"Bruce Botnick personally remixed entire expanded score from the original Sony 3348 format 48-track digital scoring session masters, courtesy Universal Pictures and Universal Music Enterprises, a division of UMG. Audio sonics are magnificent with instrumental detail not previously audible. On a score this massive, it makes quite a difference."
I ordered The Mummy, The Mummy Returns and Rocket Gibralter and was only charged $5.50 for shipping. Thanks, Intrada.
If you had ordered from Peter at moviemusic.com, you would've only paid ONE DOLLAR for shipping!
Someone's always gotta piss on my Wheaties!
Seriously, I always prefer to order directly from the label that produced the title so they get all of their money in the transaction. From what I understand they get fewer dollars when they sell to another seller. I could be wrong but that's how I look at it.
Absolutely amazing!!!!!!! This score is one of Goldsmith's absolute best.
My only small gripe (and it's only fair I say it, because I've levelled it at LLL a few times) is the fact that the disc change is just 12 minutes from the end. Just as the score is reaching its finale. I get that it was unavoidable, with the original CD surprisingly (and welcomingly) included on disc 2... but that kind of things just irritates me from a musicality point of view.
But that aside, this looks like a mighty fine presentation! Thanks Intrada!

Well if they hadn't included the original CD (which ya know, still exists and probably owned by a large percentage of the buyers of this), then it wouldn't have been unavoidable at all.
Wow! What an sonic upgrade! The raw isolated DVD has nothing on this. Incredible - can hear so much more from the mix now. What a release. Well done Intrada!
Surprised source music seems to have been left off by the looks. Not end of the world. Was that JG too, or traditional?
