Speaking of Elmer Bernstein and Martin Short... today I noticed that my Three Amigos CD was a little dusty, so like the wind I gave it a spin.
I had forgotten about the great incidental music (Fiesta and Flamenco and particularly El Guapos Birthday.) I like these tracks! They are fun tracks! Unfortunately, they're edited for a different audience; riddled with sound effects and early fade outs. Does anyone know if these pieces are traditional tunes which I might be able to find complete recordings of elsewhere, or were they written for the film? I tried to Shazam them, but it simply directed me to the OST, which makes sense. If anyone can tell me, i'd consider it to be my lucky day!
There really is a plethora of great music on this CD, even if it is punctuated with dialoge and effects. I know comedy scores don't always do so well, but perhaps one day one of the labels will give this fun score a nice expansion!

They are traditional mariachi tunes. I know this because more than two decades ago, I did a television show in which a mariachi band played both (and we could only afford public domain tunes!). But I can't point you to the titles of the pieces, unfortunately.

Gracias, amigo! At least I know I'm not searching in vain, thanks!
