This is why we can't have nice things: a minority of people can't control themselves when it comes to certain erroneous perception of politics. I hope Ford can open a new thread for the new score CD and people behave themselves this time.

I thought this would be another customer service complaint about BSX, but no.... I too think it is going to far to say they used this board "in a shabby way" merely because they promoted their latest film score release. I do NOT think it is going too far to say, "I refuse to buy this release on principle, because they certainly paid to license the rights for this score from people who I do not want to take part in supporting." I'm in that boat (well, I would be if I had disposable income to spend on this, as that "Soros" cue in particular did sound nice). I also think it's fair to express disappointment in Dennis McCarthy for taking the job because he certainly was aware of the content, but it's odd to boycott his work going forward and especially odd to say one isn't going to purchase any other recordings made by the City of Prague Philharmonic, especially after James Fitzpatrick made it clear they didn't have much if any idea of what they were signing on to. Speaking of Triumph of the Will, are there no Herbert Windt fans in this forum? I've not heard of him or his scores. Well, if I did, I certainly don't recall anything.

McCarthy's name and reputation name fine. He's done nothing to besmirch either. Everything you've said is based on biased faulty pretenses. Bet he gets a good laugh at reading these threads if he sees them.

Yes it's a very Controversial film given it's subject matter and we fully understand that and went into this with our eyes open. The music is quite outstanding and Dennis McCarthy is a very old friend of BSX's and these were the main reasons we elected to release it. Here is a link to the product page: http://tinyurl.com/yaz72qaa Here are links to the sound clips if anyone wishes to hear the score in question Soros https://tinyurl.com/y9veza2v Sophie Into https://tinyurl.com/y7s2n75b Gentile https://tinyurl.com/y8gu34d9 The Star-Spangled Banner (Jazz) W/Dennis McCarthy on Piano https://tinyurl.com/ybqmxb49 We stand by the release and we hope you play the samples and make up your own minds on it.

Yavar This is a fair and levelheaded post. I think it's ludicrous not to expect any kind of reaction to an album announcement like this; i.e. to expect people just posting about the music as if the subject matter and angle of the film didn't exist. There are rules in play here that don't allow politics and religion being discussed, and that's OK. However, I could not see any of that in the thread that was being closed. Just disappointment and frustration in McCarthy's choice of project, in particular, which is a very fair reaction in this case.
