Does enough material exist to justify a release on CD? Given that a truly comprehensive presentation of this early but quite iconic Herrmann score has never been made, has any label ever expressed interest in producing a soundtrack recording utilizing these acetates?
Just needs some declicking, but the devil's always in the details.
Herrmann incorporates the folksong "Ballad of Springfield Mountain" in his All That Money Can Buy score. The only other scores I recall quoting this tune are Waxman's Peyton Place and Kamen's Inventing the Abbots. Do we know of other scores that make use this haunting melody?
