Terence Blanchard's score for Spike Lee's new film is released digitally on Friday 10th August. Not sure about a CD.

Terence Blanchard is a very underrated composer. I can't wait to hear this.

Highly underrated. Have been listening to 'Malcolm X' and 'She Hate Me'.......gorgeous stuff.

Anyway, here are the Blackkklansman samples

This score is great, works wonders in the movie, has a very memorable and cool theme (Ron's theme); the movie is very good too. Hope gets recognized at the Oscars.

I just noticed Intrada has this listed for pre-order,
March 8, from Back Lot. Sorry, I don't know how to post
a link.

Excellent score I'd kept putting off buying a digital copy of,
which I won't have need to now that a CD is forthcoming.

Hoping this score wins oscar. Blanchard is under-rated. In addition to his film scores, he's a great trumpet player and has led his own jazz group for a long time. He's also composed two operas for Opera Theater of St. Louis, one being based on Ring Lardner's Champion.

I'd love for Blanchard to win but he should win it for the best score of the year and not because of a career achievement. This isn't Blanchard's year.

Of the five, I think Blanchard's score is the best.

Nah. I'd personally put Black Panther and Mary Poppins Returns above it. Waaaaaay above it!

It's an excellent score and would be my second choice for the Oscar. BLACK PANTHER stills tops them all. All the nominees are better than MARY POPPINS RETURNS...which will, of course, win.

Well, Blanchard gets MY vote. Hated Black Panther as a film and thought nothing of the score at all. Oh, well.

"MPR will, of course, win?" No, it seems the odds are against it. I would be really pleased with a Shaiman win but I'm afraid that's not gonna happen. Britell (although for the wrong movie IMHO - they should have nominated him for VICE) or Göransson are the most likely winners. Truth be told, I've seen far worse scores than BLACK PANTHER winning in the past. No need to be unnecessary harsh about Göransson's effort, the score has its moments. A good portion of it is quite good actually - if only I could get rid of the irritating drumming that mars so many scores in recent years... Further listening outside the movie (which I found rather boring and nothing more than standard blockbuster fair as these things go nowadays - the support for this movie really puzzles and annoys me...) helped a lot. I think I can handle a BP win in this category.

I like the Black Panther score but Blanchard's work blew me away--it packs an emotional wallop and really makes the transition from fictional to real life footage at the end of the movie work.

What I remembered most about the music in If Beale Street Could Talk was hearing Miles Davis and a lot of other dropped in music.

Just watched it.
Nice score but did he not reuse his theme from INSIDE MAN?

Very happy to be wrong about MARY POPPINS RETURNS being the shoo-in this year. I did like BLACK PANTHER best and am glad it won, but would have been perfectly happy to see BLACKkKLANSMAN win. It was one of the increasingly fewer and fewer scores each year that grabs my attention and has real musical quality.

Amazon lists a BlacKkKlansman CD release for next month. Better late than never?
