Can anyone please explain why traders on here, companies like Intrada etc are charging in excess of $10 to post a CD to the UK, whereas other companies (ie All Your Music) have free postage to the UK or others are charging just a couple of dollars for postage ? I could understand this were All Your Music hiking up the price of the CD to cover the postage, but they are clearly not doing that - and I am buying CDs from them that cost less than Intrada are charging to post a CD to the UK Because it COSTS THAT MUCH TO POST TO THE UK from the US first class. At last report AMAZON charges $14.95 to ship a single CD from the US to the UK. shipping rates have gone up, such is life. Ford A. Thaxton

USPS international shipping rates have increased massively over the past few years. I used to be able to ship a CD from the US to UK/Europe for about $5-6, then several years ago it suddenly jumped to $12. The current retail rate to ship a package from the US to UK/Europe via USPS First Class Mail International is $14 for packages weighing 8 oz. or less, which is basically 2 CDs or less. See for yourself here, under First-Class Package International Service (UK/Europe falls under Price Group 5): https://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/Notice123.htm#_c341 First Class International doesn't include tracking or insurance, so it's at your own risk for both buyer and seller. That's why some overseas buyers are now opting to purchase from local online retailers, but then they're paying import markups, so either way, people on a budget are eating peanut butter sandwiches for dinner if they want to see that newest expanded reissue on their shelf. There's nothing wrong with Peanut Butter sandwiches, being a soundtrack collector I've learn't to live on them. Oh, and it must be the "crunchy" stuff !
