Yes, all the Universal France releases are a perfect introduction to FDR's fantastic output. It's hard to believe this unique composer died almost 50 years ago ! Next year will be an opportunity to celebrate his legacy. By the way, I purchased lately the 5 LP box released by Universal since it features a couple of unreleased tracks.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I DO already have Le Samourai / Les Adventuriers and enjoy it. I'll look into the others!

Here are the contents and visuals of this nice box set :

The unreleased tracks are featured on the 4th and 5th LPs. If I'm not mistaken , they are the ones taken from TOUCHE ME NOT, SAINT TROPEZ VOLE, LA BLONDE DE PÉKIN and the last one LA RUE. The whole makes for a great listening experience.

This thread had me running to check out the score, as I'm currently in this explosive exploration phase in my old age.

Very cool score, but rarely "clean". There are a lot of things happening at once, and some of the experimental bits leave me a bit cold. The sound also leaves something to be desired. BUT....I got vibes from Morricone, Budd and whatever was happening in France at the time (Delerue, Legrand, all the French Wavers).

Btw, I dig Roubaix' LE SAMOURAI and LES AVENTURIERS, like most people.
