We have, in the interview-book "Inseguendo quel suono" (to publish translated in English in 2019), a short Morricone's opinion about Herrmann : (...) "... at the Parco dai Daini di villa Borghese, in 1983, we performed music by Steiner, Bernstein, Golsdmith, Williams, Hermann, Jarre. In this occasion, the partitures have been sent from USA, and by curiosity I read some of them. That of "Psycho" di Herrmann was magnificent, clear, written by a unique hand, his." (...) My apologies for the rapid translation, maybe a little clumsy. The Morricone's words are not surprising.
