TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia.
Sean Connery is best known for playing James Bond, but he also co-starred in the World War II epic, A BRIDGE TOO FAR, which told the story of Operation Market Garden, the Allied invasion of Holland which was supposed to bring an early end to the war in Europe (A BRIDGE TOO FAR had one of the best all-star casts ever assembled for a movie which included Connery, Robert Redford, Michael Caine, Anthony Hopkins, James Caan, Gene Hackman, Laurence Olivier, Maximilian Schell, Liv Ullman, Edward Fox, Elliott Gould, Ryan O'Neal, Dirk Bogarde and Hardy Kruger).
Another of Connery's most memorable roles is Prof. Henry Jones in INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE.
Today is the 74th anniversary of Operation Market Garden, so here are four actors who appeared in A BRIDGE TOO FAR and INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE.

Sean Connery played Maj. Gen. Roy Urquhart in A BRIDGE TOO FAR and Prof. Henry Jones in INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE.

Denholm Elliott played the RAF meteorology officer in A BRIDGE TOO FAR and Dr. Marcus Brody in INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE.

Michael Byrne played Lt. Col. Giles Vandeleur (cousin of Lt. Col. J.O.E. Vandeleur played by Michael Caine) in A BRIDGE TOO FAR and Nazi Col. Ernst Vogel in INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE.

Paul Maxwell played Maj. Gen. Maxwell Taylor in A BRIDGE TOO FAR and villain Panama Hat in INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE.

Paul maxwell in his younger days did look remarkably like the real maj gen Maxwell Taylor.

That's gotta be Ed O'Neill's character, obviously. I'm impressed if they dare to do it; not something you usually see in fluffy sit-coms like this.

Nothing should be set in the 70's.

The show will die without him the same way Two and a Half Men groaned to a halt without Charlie Sheen.

Maybe they'll pull a switch and write out a different character.

Actually, it's from Gareth Evans (The Raid), not Gareth Edwards (Godzillla, Rogue One).

Played by Fred Willard? Good call.

I was under the assumption it would be one of the central cast members, not the peripheral like Phil's dad. But yes -- if the circle is broader, that sounds like a good guess.

As much as I adore those 1980s Indiana Jones films, those effects in Last Crusade were pretty piss poor.

As I've aged like a fine wine, my appreciation for Last Crusade has grown.

But yeah.....the SFX look cheap

Alison Doody was only 23 years old when she did the film yet looked over 30. That's pretty amazing.

Wow. So how old was she when she did the godawful Bond flick, A View To A Kill?

"Godawful"? I'll have you know that FSMer The Wanderer rated it a 7/10. Hardly awful.

As to your question, if The Doody was 23 in 1989, she would have been about 19 when AVTAK was filmed.

Doody looked a lot better in A VIEW TO KILL than in THE LAST CRUSADE.

I just watched an old interview of her on YouTube. She said Connery would say to her on the set, "Howdy Doody Doo?" LMAO!
