A funny thing happened when I first played my LaLaLand disc. Somehow, the music sounded overly familiar even though I hardly watched the show back ninth day (must have seen half a dozen episodes at best)? Anyone care to enlighten me?

It was tracked over and over again. From Tarzan to Lassie's Rescue Rangers. That would explain it. The New Adventures of Gilligan?

A lot of ST:TAS music was tracked into Jason Of Star Command. Greg Espinoza Bingo! That's where I must have picked it up.

Plus the Shazam and Isis Hour.

So, could music and effects tracks for all those shows, have been used to get even more music from the show?

Plus the Shazam and Isis Hour. Yup! I saw Shazam first, so for me it was, "Hey, they're using the Shazam music in Star Trek!" Library music was ecstasy and Filmation was a rave.

Pure speculation, but I wonder: Since these shows re-used the TAS music, they either had access to the masters, or likely had copies run off so each show could access them when they needed and pull what they needed, so might, might we find copies of masters or masters themselves, hidden in the archived materials for these shows (that is, anything that didn't get trashed, which I seem to recall was most or all).

Well it was all the same studio, right? So I don't think there's copies of masters in different locations. As I recall, when Filmation was sold and/or gobbled up in some acquisition, the new owners trashed all the masters and only kept the combo music/dialog,SFX tapes.

Pour a drink and go to YouTube and find Episode 12 of "Jason of Star Command" called "Escape from Kesh."
