Well, even though they are announced on Friday the 23rd, you can't order them until Tuesday the 27th anyway so that's not really an issue here

I'd be on board with no clues at all and just waking up to total surprises on Black Friday

Personally, I find it a pain to have to remember to check out the site on Black Friday because I'm in Holiday mode, which means not so much being online. I love getting the release info the week in advance.

Thus the reason we do not start taking orders until the following Tuesday. The announcement started as a gag about 10 years ago and has since taken on a life of its own.

Universal TV projects are still a little ways off.

I'm on the fence about posting prices and limited edition numbers. It kinda runs the surprises. It's like all the damn award shows that preceed the Oscar's. By the time the big show arrives all the speculation and winners have ruined the surprise.

MV

MV, I am sure it is the same with others, it really does help me to have a guide on the price of the set and the discs in each set, the later purely for the purposes postage for the additional discs and what the end set will cost inc PP.

It is your show and I will go with what ever suits you best.

"Surprises" are way over-rated and not really to be desired in the soundtrack purchasing arena, as far as I am concerned. I much prefer knowing what is coming up so I can budget, plan combined shipping, etc.

However, I know the labels are going to do whatever they want and our griping isn't going to change anything. It's all the fault of some impatient collectors who just can't sit back and shut up about some release they expect soon. If some label announced that U. S. MARSHALLS or BRAINSTORM, for examples, was coming soon, they'd be deluged with e-mails and calls that are the equivalent of a five year old in the back seat going:
"Are we there yet?"
"Are we there yet?"
"Are we there yet?"

Aaaaargh!!!! How long till you at least start with some Universal-shows?

All the boomers will be in nursing homes or the grave ....

I hope not. And there are some counterexamples: I know that Stu Phillips with some guys "forced" Universal to release music much requested by his fans. The result was a wonderful "Knight Rider"- score album with the best stuff he composed for the first 12 episodes. Furthermore his scores for "Battlestar Galactica" and "Buck Rogers" had been released nearly completely as well. Sylvester Levay would also help to produce an "Airwolf"-score album. That shows to me: it could be done!

You and me both.
Start saving your pennies. It'll probably be $35-40 bucks - not counting pp & tax (8% for me!)
