According to Varese Sarabande Robert J. Walsh has just passed away.
We have some sad news to report. Composer #RobertJWalsh has passed away. We worked with him on two great albums, #RevengeOfTheNinja and #YoungWarriors. Many of you know that our vintage LP from back in the day for "Ninja" used to fetch several hundreds of dollars, so when we decided to re-release it, Robert worked tirelessly on his album to produce it and re-assemble it and do things he wasn't able to do on the original release. He was very proud of it as were we. We'll miss him terribly and he was one truly gifted composer. Our thoughts are with his family and the many fans he had all over the world.

Indeed, sad news. The composer of various 80s cartoons I grew up with. RIP.
Man this is tragic, just 70 gutted. I remember when Robert was fighting some illnesses in hospital seemingly over the worst of it. Rob even made time to sign ROTN not feeling 100%. RJW what a great guy had a big heart for his fans & music.
Robert was gifted with music - brill arranger & composer for movies & top-class tv shows, a good few were iconic shows, TF, FR, MB Etc, I won't forget them. TYVM Robert.
Very sad news. :-( Like others here, his music was a large part of my childhood. I see he was listed on the 1987 animated GI: JOE The Movie. Did he have a hand in creating this stunning opus?
