This is available on Amazon Uk;

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kings-Original-Soundtrack-Miklos-Rozsa/dp/B07G2MYVXG/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1540211756&sr=1-1&keywords=king+of+kings+soundtrack

It appears to be the old Sony cd release with the addition of the Prelude, which the Sony never had.

Seventeen tracks run for 75 minutes, it's stereo and sound quality is pretty good, if you can't find or afford the Rhino release, this will keep you happy until James' masterpiece comes along next year.

Just ignore the soundbites and the tracklisting they have nothing to do with the actual release.

I've just finished listening to this and can confirm that it's not the Sony release it's a cut down version of the Rhino 2 cd release. Banda Sonora have taken 17 tracks from Rhino's set and squeezed them onto a 76 minute cd.

If you can't find the Rhino, then for £8.00 it's not a bad substitute, but be warned, the Prelude doesn't play through to the end, it's faded out just before the Roman March begins, I assume they didn't have enough room on the cd to include the rest of that track.

I'd hoped it was a straight release of the 1962 soundtrack album, as I had to sell my Rozsa FSM Box set, due to shortage of funds and no longer have a copy of that album.

It's falsely advertised on Amazon as that, but then again, they probably don't know the difference.

With some foresight, you could have burned a copy of that disc before selling the set. Unethical? Sure. But is it any more unethical than paying someone $10 for a copy that THEY burned from that disc?

I saw a bunch of Banda Sonora releases for sale new at Twist & Shout when I recently visited Denver. They really seem like a shady outfit, copying other label's releases and I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't licensed. Several of them looked like straight copies of Kritzerland releases...

I could have burned a copy, but as I was suffering from stress at the time, I'm afraid the logical (if unethical) part of my brain wasn't working too well, if at all. frown

I was in HMV last week and noticed several releases in stock from Banda Sonora, including this one. Does anyone know anything about this label, are these releases bootlegs as such?

Their Ben Hur release is just the Rhino version repackaged, the King of Kings they released consists of whole and partial tracks lifted from the Rhino 2cd set.

The Ben Hur is good King of Kings however should be avoided, my copy was a right mish mash.

They are probably legal over here in the Uk but not in the US.

C'mon, it's not brain surgery. It's a gray area EU label - NOTHING is licensed. I suspect there's a way to go after these people, having to do with current copyright of a NEW master that had never been released before - IF they're doing straight copies from those kinds of CDs. But no one is going to bother, I'm afraid.

Thanks Chris. I was considering buying it as it's only a tenner but I'll just wait for the Tadlow. I actually thought I had the Rhino release but it appears I don't, or I can't find it!

Loosing a 'Rhino' is no small feat especially if it's TKOK's.
