I've noticed (whether in conversations or especially in written form) that Americans more often use my name at the start of sentences, or elsewhere. Over here, it's more common to just say 'you' after you've introduced yourself once at the beginning of a meeting. Less common to pepper the conversations with own names.

There's an old American expression: "That's my name, don't wear it out!"

I know its tough for fans, but really, Williams should only be working concerts in America now-days & movies, globetrotting air is long-haul even for youngsters, no disrespect to JW.

Glad Williams is relaxing back-home cool.

Let's all wish JW a speedy and full recovery and I am sure that he is relaxing at home right now, listening to either Dracula or Hook, which surely needs a speedy reissue.

Any more news on the maestro's health? Hope he's doing well.

No one? Well, no news is good news, I guess. It's just there haven't been many pictures of him since he got back.

No news on his health situation, but there have been rumours that he will retire in 2019. They are just that, though, rumours. No reason to take them seriously unless it comes directly from Williams or his people.

I heard that John Williams got caught in bed with Daisy Ridley! Ooooh, scandalous!

He ain’t retiring. His mantra is “Music is enough for a lifetime but a lifetime isn’t enough for music.”

When he was here in Boston he announced numerous times that he was done with film and he was just going to do (“serious”) concert music. He could never step away.

Same thing with his recent activity, maybe he will try to make this SW score a capstone to that series, but as long as Spielberg is around making movies and JW is able, he will.

And why not? Morricone is almost 90 and he’s still going. Other prolific composers like Philip Glass (82) and Michel Legrand (86) are still going strong.
