Saw the film two days ago. It was pretty good for what it was -- a kind of schlocky B war movie, with tons of intensity. The score, however, was massively disappointing. Just run-of-the-mill noise, really. Kurzel can do so much better.
Alas, the LOUDNESS of the film (endless explosions and shooting) also worsened my tinnitus, which is now at another level.
Dude, get yourself a good pair of musician's noise reduction earplugs, they won't distort the sound much yet will take the decibels down a knotch. I can't go to the movies without them myself, I feel you =/
A good tip. I use earplugs, usually, but had forgotten them on this occasion (a few fingers to the ears now and then didn't help much either). If I get the money, I'll buy one of those headphones.
Saw the movie today, pretty intense and very enjoyable, as for the score, if is not as good as Alien Covenant or Macbeth, pretty entertaining and f'ing intense
